The Davies Post

My last post was a recap of last year and led us to the current  pregnancy. I told you about my experience from positive pregnancy test, HG, my hospital stay at 6 weeks gestation and that we told Emme after the 12 week sono.  Just to back up a moment for the purpose of this post... (Pic- 11weeks) I went for my first midwife appointment at 10 weeks (don’t think I touched on that??) and at that time was so miserable-as the midwife could see. I would have to constantly sip on ice cold decaf tea to avoid swallowing and tasting my own saliva and throwing up—honestly the worst! That appointment was about 2 hours long. I was shocked and never expected to be in there for that length of time. This was my first encounter with any midwives and I am told this will be the midwife I will see throughout the pregnancy (and possibly at birth if she is on shift). Well, I am what they call "rubbish" at blogging. It seems as though COVID controlled and slowed my life to a snail's pace for so long that once the gates opened back up, we went running, and have not sat down since (including to blog). Those of you that read my posts, I believe to generally be family wondering about life updates and friends interested in what life in the UK has been like for us. I try to post on social media as things are happening, but really just enjoying life here and soaking it up as much as I can. Maybe it still feels unreal and that this moment will pass me by? It is reality that this is what we call life and we are happy with that, but something has always felt 'un-final' since Daniel and I have met. Whether here or America, it always feels we live in a moment of, "this is where we are, and this is our life, and we are happy... what will come next?" The last time I blogged was in May. Goes to show how busy you get when you're actually allowed to see your friends and family and go on "holiday"/vacation. Where to start?? JUNE June was a hot month. We spent lots of days wishing we had air conditioning and sitting in front of fans. We were happy to be blessed with the sunshine and it encouraged gathering outdoors with family and friends as we were now allowed to do. We purchased a splash pad and kiddie/paddling pool for the garden/yard to cool down. I enjoyed my first proper "tea" with my sister in law and cousin. We did a day trip with Emme and her little cousin Olivia to a really cool forest/trails/Gruffalo trail park. We enjoyed Father's day with an all you can eat breakfast OUT (first time taking Emme to a proper restaurant in about 6 months) and we went to see Peter Rabbit 2 in theaters.
